WizCommerce Raises $8 Million to Revolutionize AI-Powered Wholesale Distribution

WizCommerce

Key Highlights :

WizCommerce has raised $8 million in Series A funding from Peak XV Partners, with participation from Blume Ventures, Z47, and Alpha Wave.

The AI platform handles $100M+ GMV per year, supporting 700 reps and 300,000 buyers, and plans to introduce an “AI workforce” for wholesale distributors.

Key Background :

WizCommerce was started by Divyaanshu Makkar and Vikas Garg with the mission to revolutionize the wholesale distribution space. The US wholesale market, worth over $10 trillion, is still based on old-fashioned methods like spreadsheets, manual orders, and legacy portals. Both founders have extensive expertise. Makkar from working in Bessemer Venture Partners and EY-Parthenon, and Garg from founding roles at Zomato.

To address these issues, WizCommerce created an AI-native platform that integrates sales, marketing, and buyer interactions. The solution is intended to remove fragmented workflows and allow distributors to implement updated, automated methods. Its key features are AI-driven quoting, customized storefronts, integration of ERP systems, generation of lifestyle imagery, and payment functionalities embedded within it.

Platform adoption has been robust, with WizCommerce already processing more than $100 million in annual GMV. Over 700 sales reps and 300,000 buyers are currently utilizing the system in categories like home decor, lighting, and general merchandise. For sales reps, it saves on administrative overhead, and for buyers, it streamlines ordering and provides curated product experiences.

The newly raised $8 million Series A funding will go into building AI strength, growth in the US, and speeding up product development. The company will double its engineering, product, and AI teams and leverage go-to-market efforts. A primary focus is developing an “AI workforce” to automate key workflows in front-office and back-office functions.

CEO Divyaanshu Makkar points out that WizCommerce’s goal is to enable distributors to concentrate on value creation, not routine tasks. He imagines AI applications handling everything from stock checks to proposal drafting, such that sales teams would close deals quicker and operations teams would be able to operate more efficiently. Buyers get to experience smooth, quicker, and easier purchasing procedures.

They are also convinced of WizCommerce’s potential. Peak XV’s Rishen Kapoor pointed out that the platform has become irreplaceable for reps and buyers, driving efficiency and customer satisfaction. Blume Ventures’ Sajith Pai commended the company’s customer empathy and rapidity of innovation, citing emerging AI products such as WizAI and WizStudio, which indicate the team’s capacity for rapid evolution according to customer requirements.
