According to the Bengaluru Innovation Report from Startup Karnataka and 3one4 Capital, Karnataka, which has India’s largest startup ecosystem, is still the leader in the tech industry. The report says that the state has more than half of India’s artificial intelligence (AI) AI Talent and machine learning (ML) talent pool, which makes Bengaluru the country’s tech powerhouse.
About 2.5 million of the city’s 13 million residents work in the software industry. The report says that about 25–27% of Bengaluru’s workforce is involved in software and technology-driven businesses, including those who work for startups. This shows how important the city is to India’s digital economy.
AI Talent and Startup Funding
Prashanth Prakash, Chairperson of the Startup Vision Group – Government of Karnataka and Founding Partner at Accel India, said, “Bengaluru has attracted 58% of India’s total AI startup funding in the last five years, showing that it is a leader in the global AI race.”
The city also has the most funded startups in the country. Since 2010, 3,445 active companies in Bengaluru have raised money, which is more than the 2,923 startups in Delhi NCR. This shows that Bengaluru is still a popular place for investors and entrepreneurs.
Siddarth Pai, a founding partner at 3one4 Capital, talked about how big Bengaluru’s software industry is. He said that 20% of the city’s population works in software, and that number goes up even more when you count startups.
The Bengaluru Innovation Report says that Karnataka is not only a center for AI Talent and technology, but also a center for AI-driven innovation. This attracts both domestic and foreign investment and shapes India’s place in the global tech landscape.
